I have relocated to Bristol from Lancashire after teaching art in secondary schools for over thirty years. I originally specialised in printmaking, but as an art teacher have developed a wide range of experience in different media and techniques. Although I loved my teaching it left me little time to explore my own creativity and it has only been since my early retirement five years ago that this has become a priority for me.  After periods of travelling in different parts of the world during the past few years, (with my travelpack of watercolours, inks and sketchbooks) I have found my home in Totterdown and am inspired once again by my locality and the vibrant creativity of Bristol.

I have always been fascinated with landscape and the natural world, exploring this in a range of media but have recently returned to my first love of printmaking. As a member at Spike Print Studio in Bristol I am now spending time exploring a range of printmaking techniques and further developing my work.

I work from sketches and my own photographs and my travels have provided much inspiration in addition to the landscape of my northern roots and recent stimulation around my new home.
